Engine Castings
We have (and can supply) drawings and some castings for three small steam engines suitable for steamboaters:
- A single cylinder engine of 2.36 x 3.0ins bore and stroke, a design by Ian Cross and John Maltby
- An twin HP of the same dimensions. This twin would potentially produce about 5 IHP at 150 PSI and 500 RPM
- Phil Moore's renowned twin.
All the castings for engine are in the material specified in the tables below.
The prices shown are inclusive of VAT but excluding package and postage. Where prices are not indicated these will be provided on application.
We also offer a set of drawings for the Taylor T2 engine, castings for this are available commercially.
Ordering process
To place an order please first request a quotation for the castings you want. Please use the form at the end of the page to do this.
We will confirm your quote request, providing an order number and pro-forma invoice. (Note that energy supply costs are adding to the volatility of prices, so your pro-forma invoice may vary slightly from this price list).
Our terms are:
- Cash with order (BACS transfer prefered).
- Lead times approximately 4-6 weeks from order.
- Shipping to your specified address at extra cost (or collection from Library Administrators in Cumbria).
We may be able to hold a stock of popular castings, once we understand demand.
Engine Drawings
Taylor T2 Engine - Sample Drawing
We have complete drawings suitable for the well known Taylor T2 engine of 2.5 x 2.5ins bore and stroke.
These drawings consists of twelve A3 sheets. Available at £70.00 (plus post and packing) a set.Note castings for this engine are available commercially and are not available from the SBAS.
CrossMaltby HP Twin - Sample Drawing
Drawings for the Ian CrossMaltby twin engine are still in development but will probably also be twelve sheets A3 sheets.

This is a single sheet in A1 or A0. Price £15 (plus post & packing)
